The PlanEvery so often I realize that I've been spending too much. As a result I take a month (although the first time was 40 days) and 'fast' on spending. It's not easy, but it's quite helpful in many ways. Each time I've done this I have actually made between 50 and 200 dollars. Combine that with the money I didn't spend, and the fact that I reformed my spending, it can have a big impact financially.

Unless otherwise indicated you can't spend any expected income.
NO spending of already existing money in your possession The only exception to this is spare change
NO stockpiling
If you have any bills, you can pay them.
If you have any thing owed to you, you can call it in
You can sell get money by getting rid of things in your home
You can spend money that is refunded to you in that month
Anything that you sell or get refunded must be spent after you get the money back. So if you submit a reimbursement for medical expenses, or sell something online, you can't spend money in anticipation of getting it. If you submit it and you don't get anything sent to you that month... tough noogies. If you find out someone owes you money, you have to wait until they hand it to you.
Gambling is allowed with any eligible money (but I don't recommend that)
You can consume anything that you already have
You can barter
In the end you can potentially.

Day 7: Punkin alight
In cleaning this morning I found a penny and a quarter. Breakfast was a great departure from my usual yogurt.. Corn Pops. Liza loves it when I have cereal because it means that she gets milk! In anticipation of getting to go to a chili cookoff, I decided it was time to knock out some chores. I did exciting things like organize towels and blankets, and moved some furniture around in the guest bedroom. More excitingly I changed the lawnmower's oil and filter.
A little after noon Melissa (our driver), Brittany, Katie, Ashley and I went to the cookoff. It was $5 for all you can eat chili. Of course it's all samples so it takes a little while to get an actual meal out of it. They had a wine/beer tasting thing too but I skipped that. Starr came out a little later so I walked around for a second run of the chili. In addition to the food there were two trebuchets launching pumpkins. They were rather unexciting except the one time it went backwards and came pretty close to knocking out the Bull and Bones beer tent.
When I came home I mowed most of the lawn before the sun went down, took a shower, ate a frozen pizza (why do I have so many of these??) and watched some episodes of The Office (Brittish version) on Netflix. This time change is nuts. It's only 9 and I feel like going to bed.
