Well, last fall we had a meeting at work. Tom said that he wanted us to present more at conferences. So I went back and did a Google search for "madison wisconsin conference". Who would have thought... that the first hit would be a conference on distance learning in Madison in the summer of 05. What luck. Emet and I submitted a few proposals and one got in. Hooray, we get to teach people how to use Macromedia Breeze... um.. yay?

Here I am standing in front of the capitol building. It's super neato and very well air conditioned.

We wandered around the first night and found the library where our workshop was going to be held. As you might guess, there are no pictures of the library. Cause it's a library.

Sadly, there is a big workshop going on back home, and it's not going well. For a lot of reasons. Mostly, its because things did not go as planned. I have been going to conference events, staying up super late most nights working on things for the workshop, and wandering the streets of Madison looking for tasty snacks.

Wednesday nights are great in Madison because there is a concert on the lawn around the capitol building. Emet here prominently points out the capitol behind him as the patrons slowly depart from the orchesrtal concert that was of course accompanied by a harmonica. I can honestly say, that I have never seen a harmonica player in such a venue.

Hmm.. what else... Oh! here is another shot of the Monona Terrace. This time from the front, and another one of the capitol's reflection. The last picture is from a burger place that I have been trying to get to for years now. Dotty Dumplings. Best in Madison.

Later in the evening we went to the Mendota Terrace. Emet was impressed by the beer list, about 25 on tap. Welcome to Wisconsin. He even had one, which I have only seen once before, and here is a nice picture of him wearing a UW tshirt drinking a beer, and holding a copy of The Onion. No wonder the lady that carded him thought it was a fake.

We suffered through / enjoyed open mic night for the rest of the night. I don't like poets. I have decided that. I know its mean, but man. If you are going to be a poet... I recommend you don't yell so much. Anyone who needs to guzzle honey to keep his voice working is just plain wierd.
