Day 4: Peers and Piers

Friday morning I was woken up by my new alarm clock. A Canadian with a tuba. Stretch is in town to find a part time job since he is going to be in the area with his family for the summer. It was great I found out he would be in town and could drive me down to see Andy. To the left you see what really can happen when you pull someone's finger.

I can't get over the view from the house that Will is staying at. I also was quite shocked to see a Natty Bo' sticker on a car in LA. The last time I was in Los Angeles was not a great experience. I was hoping that this would be quite different. By the quality of the company I get to be with today I am enthusiastic about today.

Lunch was at a place with crazy haired babies. Here is one sporting a fine fro-hawk. We stuffed ourselves on tasty sushi and then moved along to the rest of the afternoon. Sadly Stretch had to leave. He had another interview and needed to get on the road. Andy and Charlene and I proceeded to paint the town various colors.

I had no real agenda aside from hanging out and relaxing. After we ran a few errands, Andy took me to Santa Monica. We walked through some of the shops, checked out the dinosaur fountains, played mini golf, and ventured into the arcade briefly. There were some scary games in there. If you don't find the 'Big Bertha' setup scary, I am impressed.

Andy and I did a lot of catching up. Charlene seemed to tolerate us pretty well. We went to a bar that sort of hangs off the cliffs over the ocean. After that was a quick drive through Topenga Canyon. Somewhere along the drive we decided to check out a movie. There was a big production finding a good theatre to go to. In the end we found a few showings that would be good. First though we had some food at a cafe that does fancy duck pictures with the foam in thier cappacinos. We put away a big plate of Medditeranian food and scooted over to the movie.
We were late for the showing that we wanted so we went to Amoeba Records before our showing started . I found a lot of good vinyl to add to my collection. It was a little more than I would usually spend on music. All for a good cause though. The theater, Arc Light, was unique. When you buy your ticket, you pick your seat. So you can get whatever spot is available. Your printed ticket has a seat number and everything. Right before the movie began a guy in the theatre jumped up and attempted to get us all excited about the upcoming feature. I think he worked there, but who knows.
