Summer 1997

The summer after we graduated college Nick and I took the most random trip ever. We didn't go across country, we went around it. Seemed like a good idea at the time. In fact it remains one of my all time favorite trips ever. 3 weeks, 21 states, 10,000 miles, 11 relatives visited, all for under $1,100 total expenses. If only we had taken more pictures. I guess we'll just have to do it again some time. All the pictures are from Nick and the comentary is from an old site of mine.

- Me

Long ago we never figured we'd drive 3 weeks straight.

We video taped some of the highlights..

This rainbow got caught on tape, along with a tumbleweed storm.

Bell Rock was on our way to...

...the grand canyon.

Our feet took us to...
...more grand scenes.
Sometimes we got really lost...

We even traveled to the gates

of Hell and back...

It made us get kinda goofy.

No speeding tickets. This was as close as we got to jail

California had lots of family.

Uncle John, Aunt Ann, Sara (cousin), and Bear (dog) pose for a second one with me...

Sara gave us a quick tour of Golden gate park, where we played cards.

Seattle had flying fish,

and space needles

We saw the sunrise over the midwest 3 am.

I had to wake up nick with the flash so he wouldn't miss the sunrise.

Shortly after Nick..

...and I

...visited some presidents

Nick introduced me to some friends in Madison, WI.

Nick's parents have a cushie couch too.

My brother was the last stop before Blacksburg
