Currently I am on a secret secret trip that only one person knows
about.. oh wait.. no other way around.. Only one person doesn't know
about it.
Nick's birthday is this Saturday, and I am using up some frequent flyer miles
to come surprise him. Jess has worked with me to coordinate the madness that
is my latest and greatest (which isn't saying much) trip in a long time. |
It started out with me getting a ride from Andrew at 6am. Unfortunately
neither of us heard our alarms go off and if it wasn't for my inherited
ability to wake up whenever I want, that I was able to get up, get
a quick shower and go wake up Andrew. We got on the road a bit late
and when I got to the airport, they had cancelled me right off the
plane because I wasn't there a half hour ahead of time. I had to either
pay 100 bucks or go on standby for any of my flights that I would be
stuck on the rest of the day. I still don't understand why the are
so strict at an airport that takes all of a minute to get through security.
I did some serious begging and got on free of charge. I figure it is
only fair since the last time I flew out, it took me something on the
order of 12 hours of sitting to get from Roanoke to Providence. I could
have done that in my car.
So off I flew to Chicago. I found some neat stuff there. The fighter
plane of O'Hare himself and a big dinosaur. There may have also been
little dinosaurs, but the big one was a bit more prominent. Next,
on to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I think I am in the former at the moment.
Hard to tell. When I got off of the plane I turned on my phone only
to find that I my voicemail password wasn't working. Then it hit
me. My phone service has this thing where it shuts you out if you
happen to be in what it considers to be a high crime area. So if
you steal my phone, please do it in a high crime area. I put in my
secret code and off I went. |

Jess recommended that I go ahead and get some food while I was
waiting for her. So I wandered around looking for a good place. After
looking at a map for a while, I learned that the food court was directly
behind me. And thus, I felt silly. I didn't feel all that hungry.
In fact I still had a few granola bars and a couple of cookies in
the shape of planes. |

My lack of interest in paying airport food prices in combination with my
lack of my hungritude, made me think that my time was best suited to writing
things for my web page. Which brings me up to now. The MSP airport (as it is anachronized) food
court has some very happenin music. It isn't often that you find yourself
tapping your foot to the soulful melodies of Stevie Wonder or lakeside
in an airport. Actually I think I was the only one here getting into the
music. I suppose I should sit down and stop dancing. 12:18 central time means I have about half an hour or so before Jess
gets here. I am not sure how far away I have to go to meet her, but I
suppose I should find that out before it gets too late. Definitely before
I start thinking that the Sushi bar over in the corner of the food court
is a viable option for lunch. I imagine that would be a bad way to start
a trip off. Ah the pleasure that is visiting local hospitals. Let's avoid
that shall we?
They say it's nice and toasty outside. Something like 11.
Which is neat cause that means it is -11, or close to it, in
Celsius. Off I go to find a bathroom and wherever it is that
Jess will be picking me up. Keep an eye out for more updates,
I may do them as I go through the trip. Though most likely
you will have to wait a bit longer since I actually intend
to be social while I am here.

Well I got my ride here with Jess. I wandered around, went through
the closets and rearranged furniture. Just for kicks. While I waited
for Jess and Nick to come home I set up my computer for their wireless
connection and worked some on the images for this snappy new page.
After Jess got back from work we discussed dinner, and decided
on a few options. Lots of options around here.. Regardless, it
wasn't long before Nick came home and was horribly confused. I
am not sure if he is over it yet. But I am sure he will soon.
Tonite we went out to get some sushi. Quite tasty. Best of all
I got a cool new picture. Check this thing out. It's the instructions
that no one ever tells you. But you really should know! No ears,
No nose, No um... tusks? The Japanese hate tusks, and you should
too. Those sneaky chef's attached our sushi together with wasabi.
I always forget that they do that at the good places. Boy I tell
ya, Kroger's got nothin on Fujiya! |

Currently Nick is on the phone with his friend Ben, who will be
checking this page later. So I took a picture of a picture on Nick's
fridge. Ben is on the left, Jake is in the middle, Nick is on the
right. We're looking up pictures for Ben's house. Then I think we
might go egg it. There are lots of eggs in the fridge. |
