Take Care
I started this entry nearly two years ago. I’m not sure what made me think to write it, nor why I didn’t post it at the time. The second half rings true today… well… every day.
I’m the first to point out that I really don’t know much about what’s going on in the world at large and instead focus on local so please take the following statement with that in mind. Also keep in mind that I am a middle aged white male and thus have experienced a life that is rather bland with regard to being directly affected by racial issues.
I’m not so sure that the racial factors of recent tragedies and injustices are the real issue. I’m not ignoring that it is a significant, not one bit. But to me I just feel like it’s better to acknowledge that the world is filled with cruel and unfair events. This is not a recent change, it’s always been. And from this I believe that there will be a day when we can find ways to support one another to prevent those of us here on earth from having to suffer. And when tragedy is unavoidable or unexpected, we can support and help one another overcome and become safe and strong once again both in spirit and in body.
Take care of one another. Don’t wait for an event to do so. Just make others happy. It’s not always easy. But we all have the capacity to do it.

A couple of my co-workers from the psychology dept. @ VT received “Aunt Esther’s” roses. They are now sitting on my desk for all to see their beauty. Great way to remember your dear Aunt Esther!!!
I received a rose on Thursday June 12th! IT MADE MY DAY! It turned a horrible day into something bright and not so bad. Thank you Sarah and Esther! I was all smiles.
What a wonderful remembrance for a very special Aunt!
