I last saw Melissa Dowd in Boston, years ago when I was in town for a conference as a vendor.  When she found out I was in town through facebook she invited me out with some of her friends to watch football at a bar nearby.  I hadn’t seen her in years but it was cool to get a chance to catch up.  She was just beginning med school, pretty happy to be pursuing her new dreams.

She shared this link on Thursday through facebook.

She was in an accident that took her life Friday [news video]. Seems likely that she would be making an effort to have Friday be a good day so I’ll hang on to that for now. You can take this a lot of ways. I’m not quite sure how I will personally. This is the best I can come up with today.
